Arai Vs. AGV

So I was at the car show this weekend and someone stole my helmet (too much trust with leaving it with my bike).

I'm deciding between Arai Vs. AGV. I owned a Shoei before- anyone have any input? Do Sizes transfer pretty easily?

Even if the size translates, the shape may not.

I have an Arai. Very comfy and the size seems to be similar to Shoei. I also have a Shoei and an HJC. All medium. I'm possibly lucky in that they all are the same size though. I tried an AGV and it was tight on the top on my head and gave me a headache after wearing it around the dealer showroom.

Op,

Both are great helmets and I wouldn't consider one more superior over the other. Both are top of the line lids. All comes down to personal preference. Which design you like best, color, etc.

My advice, go try a couple of the Agv (gp-techs) and some of the arai's on and see what fits your head best. They do feel different.

Goodluck. Post pic of the new lid

In my experience, AGVs are super small as compared to other brands. I'm XL in Shoei, Arai, HJC and Suomy. I can't get an XXL AGV over my head! Really small bottom opening..claustrophobic. I think they are made for small Europeans..

Best quality helmet out there now, Shoei, close second is Arai. Shoei is quieter as well. I'm comparing X12 to Corsair V.

My .02

Thank you everyone for the great input!. Seems theres a little bit more thought that needs to be put into these two types than the Shoei. I'll check some out tomorrow.

I have a long, narrow head. The GP-Tech's fit almost exactly like an Arai Signet-Q....which means those are just about the only two helmets I can wear comfortably.

Go to 2 Wheel Toyz. They have probably every helmet you're looking for and you can try them on. If they don't have to design you're looking for, Jack will order it.
