I got my Ninja 250 for $750 on craigslist. Put another $750 in it to be race ready. Used bikes and sleeping well at night are both wonderful things. Full coverage insurance and warranties are great if you can't afford the hit all at once, but overall, you pay (more than) for what you get.

You were the one who claimed "6g's" and then when I said that was a pretty dumb price you dropped it to 5. Not trolling; I'm just letting you know to be cautious next time you buy a bike.

The wisdom that only owning a 250 imparts is truly uncanny.

I bought a 2011 new at 5gs.
A little high. Once all the gear was added and warranty (albiet warranty, but still holds value) but its not that bad.
the wisdom that only owning a 250 imparts? Thats irony, got enough wisdom to know myself well enough to start out small.

Why the do you care how much I spent on my bike?
Honestly? I'm smart enough to know.
I just like to ride man. Thats it. I love riding.

This thread was started cus im happy I get to start riding again. That's it.

I'm done, there IS too much stupidity in this thread alot of back and forth on alot of nonsense.
Have fun riding, stay safe everyone.

Congratulations! Very lucky! Glad you didn't think the criminal method until too late (adding theft, then calling them back...) :-)

Edit: I missed everyone jumping on your . It's easy for keyboarders to do that. No worries, you didn't do it because you're not a criminal. Yay!

Im really not trying to step on anyone's feet. Not looking for sympathy. I'm just glad to have my bike back. That is all. dBuck I hope this clears things up a bit? Im not disagreeing with you im not trying to disrespect you.
I only had issue with you thinking making a false insurance doesn't hurt my day to day life. You're right. It probably won't hit me in a major way....but guess what. Those claim payments (justified and false claims) help these companies determine MY premiums. I just thought the mere thought of, "my bro is a PI for insurance scams, and I know I can...yada yada" was BS. and it is. It shows your character when you say stuff like that. And this was over a 2k bike....maybe 3, or was it 6? J/K man. Chalk it up to a lesson learned... With it being your sole and primary transportation one would think it should have been the first thing that crossed your mind. No toes damaged here. Carry on.

Hey, starting on a 250 is great, you won't find anyone here that disagrees with that. My comment was speaking more towards the attitudes of all too many 250 riders that think just because they started small they know everything already since they followed the advice of "keyboard warriors".

I personally don't care how much you spent on your bike but if you go running your mouth about paying that much you should expect someone to speak up about it. Nothing said in this thread was in any way out of the blue or made up just to troll you. Everyone has responded to things YOU said. If you want to weasel your way out of being a piece of that's cool but you're over MANY people with that insurance claim bullshit and people have a right to call you out on it. Especially when your excuse for not doing it is "OOPS told the cops too early LOL". Grow the up.
