Question back roads route Houston to San Antonio

MH,

I want to ride to San Antonio (Bulverde) but not on I-10 (boring, too many trucks). Does anyone have a good back road route please?

thanks!

For the quickest non I-10 route take 90A to Sequin, then whatever roads you need to your destination. For a slower trip, take the back roads to Frelsburg, 1291 to Fayetteville, 159 to 2981 to 2145 then north on 77 to 153 through Winchester and then down to Smithville. 535 through Rosanky to 20 then south on 20 to Lockhart then 142 to 80 and south to San Marcos. From there it depends on where your going in San Antonio. The first route is about as fast as I-10; the second will take about 50 percent longer.
