building a website....

how hard is it.. scale of 1-10 1 being easy like a 16 y/o on prom night. and 10 being hard as the lucky little boys .

I'm going to get the domain StuntersFTW.com and I just want to use it to post up all of our videos and ... basically be like a stuntersyoutubeforhouston.com and who knows maybe eventually sell dvds or something on there.

Depends on what kind of features you want. It can be as simple or complex as you want.

Keep it simple and it's easy enough. As you learn more, you can build a more complex/prettier etc site, but that doesn't necessarily make it better. Content is key.

Don't host videos.. Too much bandwidth = $$$ Host on youtube or whatever and just link to or embed them in the pages. It's easy enough and instructions are on youtube.

+1 to what ArturoC said. I have a couple of website with videos on the server and the bandwith will kill you. Host it on youtube.

Website Design can be as easy as making a Word .doc document if you use FrontPage. Other programs like Adobe's GoLive with its features being able to connect to other Adobe programs can allow you making a website as hard you want it to be. There are no limits.

One note though, website design is VERY time consuming if you want to do it right. There will be hourlong nights where you will just try to figure out one page and its features or its design or whatnot. Keep is as simple as you can in the beginning and let the time committment slowly come to you whenever you feel you can handle more.

Find some sites you like and post the links in here. That is the best way for a web designer to understand what you are going for. That will help some of us dictate how much it may cost you. Then you will need to find a host that can manage the type of bandwidth, etc....

the best way i can describe it is...

imagine a front page with a big pic of all the riders and you can click on the riders body and it will take you to that riders page.. that riders page being very simular to a myspace page(pics/videos/info)... and on the side of the main page also will be a menu.. in this menu you can click [gallery][videos][links][contact].... and thats really about it... links will have links listed, videos will just be thrown up there with a little title, gallery will just be abuncha pics, contact will be contact info..

Easy money... You got the pic you want to start with? Now you need to find a host. I have been using these guys,

http://www.1and1.com

to develop my Grandpa's site.

http://www.moodyescondido.com

it is a slow project so far.... :eh:
