did they give a reason for the cop hitting the bike other than it was an unregistered bike being riden on a public street?

guys looked shady... like they were running. Shouldn't have been doing what they were doing with what they were using in the first place.

after watching the abc vid, they guys were in the wrong. Ive said time and time again, if you run from the cops on a bike, don't expect them to treat you any different than someone in a car. Sux for the people involved (cops included) but do stupid , get stupid results.

because they were running, its OK for assault with intent to kill?

Talk about judge, jury, and executioner.....

I get what some people say about the guys maybe being shady and stuff, but a cop hitting them with his cruiser?

I can't see people actually thinking that was ok, if it wasn't an accident, that is.

Well, Im sure the cops meant to knock them off the bike, just not kill them. They weren't going that fast so, it may have seemed rational to do that. Just unfortunate that they hit a pole.

But, then again, none of this would have happened had they not been breaking the law in the first place. , they could have just stopped the first time, gotten a ticket or whatever and lived another day. THEY chose to RUN, BOTH OF THEM.

Maybe because ramming a car is a lesser chance of killing its occupants, but on a bike, there's serious injury or death a very likely effect.

Just common sense, you should use it a tiny bit more.

wanna think you are superman or billy badass on a bike that can out run cops easier? sure, but play by the same rules that cars do.

I did not say that.

I detest chases......puts too many at risk. Follow them with the whirly bird and take them where they stop.

Any cop that goes on a high speed chase is a , any cop that rams a bike is a psychopath and no better than a criminal.

so...let criminals just get away with right? Because THATS what would happen. Real world, if the initial officer cant get them, the criminal would get away. You cant just call in the birds whenever you have someone run, there aren't enough, plus you still need units on the ground to continue the chase. and apprehend them once they bail.

What if the "whirly bird" is down because of low ceiling/weather, maintenance, or will take 15 mins to take off?

Just don't chase period?

seems legit.

if everyone KNEW that they wouldn't be chased, think of how many would bail, and how many more crimes would be committed?
