Got me a bike

Well, after wrecking my CBR, (still healing up from a broken collarbone) I was left without a bike. What to do? No money for a new CBR. Dying to get back on a bike. I won't be quite ready to ride for at least another 2 months. I need a project. Luck has it, the guy I sold my first bike to wants to get rid of it. I picked it up and a bunch of spare parts for near free. It is an 06 Suzuki GS500F. It has been used, and abused, but I know it is good. Needs a carb cleaning, all around go through, fresh oil, brake flush, etc.

My first goal is clean it up, get it running right, go over it thoroughly, etc.

My ultimate goal is to turn it into a café racer. Something like this:

I will be doing all the work myself, and it will be a welfare budget build. I can't wait. Not a bad project. Fun, decent commuter.

well, I guess it won't be a true cafe racer, but I'm going for that style.

ok, so looking at pics, I guess my goal is a variation of café racer and street fighter. Anyway, gonna start this weekend with the carb cleaning.
