Worst road debris you've hit or almost hit?

First place, would be the 4x4 post I hit with my car. If you ever see cars on both shoulders, pull over instantly.

Second, with could have been #1 and #2 (har har) was an entire garbage bag of used diapers that exploded on the 59 to I-10 change over. Talk about a wreck..

a truck hit me. but one time on i-10 i hit some massive black board type thing that came out under a truck, it looked like one of those black covers that are on the garbage cans (the big ones behind grocery stores and stuff) , i caught some air i think but regained control and just remember cursing in my helmet and what not

I forgot one. The day a truck in front of me lost it's alternator. It bounced left, I went right, it bounced right, I went left, etc until it came right for me and then bounced over my car. lucky.

deer don't bother me. We've got several herds of them out here. Just aim for the deer and they will move. If you choose in front or behind them thy will always do a 180 and run right in front of you. I also have deer whistles on my bike.

Another reason not to ride in the oil/debris strip in the center of the lane. Always ride in the tire path of the vehicle in front of you unless it's a big rig. Also gives you an out to the left or right depending which side of the lane you're in.

Two sheets of plywood, complete with rusty nails. Came off of a trailer hauling tail (back in Kansas City). Saw the speeding van + trailer, saw that nothing in the trailer was strapped down, swerved the motorcycle sharply to the left and in between the sheets of plywood as they flew by either side of me (one piece went right were I would have been had I not swerved).

Second was a pre-hit deer on it's side in a rental mini-van that my buddy had rented to drive and buy a new Lancer (later on I saw the lancer that had hit the deer first. Not my buddy ) in heavy fog at night. No time to swerve, just gassed it and it took a few wheels off the ground for a moment. Got worried later on when I started seeing a lot of thick smoke. Turned out to be burning deer carcass

A ladder on 45N on my way to work. Riding and it just appeared from under a truck in front of me. I guess he passed over it and luckily I was able to avoid it. Stopped at the EZ Tag store and have been taking the Hardy ever since.

I wasn't driving but was riding in the middle seat of my bosses truck, pulling a 24 foot trailer filled to the max with flight cases on i-10 when the big rig in front of us had the come alongs on the trailer snap, fly over and popped pieces of concrete out of the road. Then the industrial gear fell off the trailer right in our path. When me and co worker screamed like little girls he looked at us while driving straight for it. We missed it by an inch. We had all been up for 3 days working gigs and I don't know how me survived.

On the bike, I hit a tire or something. It was dark and late at night, I kinda felt like it hit my feet, but I ran over it and the bike was fine, minor crack in fairings.

Gotta watch out for those tires, even in the HOV lane...

I hit a person who was crossing the interstate, that sucked.
Otherwise, just the usual tire treads up until last week actually I plowed through what I thought was an empty styrofoam cooler on 290. I really couldnt have missed it as it popped out from beneath a tahoe with hoodrat ground effects and I wasn't paying very good attention. Turned out it was full of canned beverages, don't know exactly what, but what a of a racket it made under my jeep. Funny thing is about 200 yards further down the road was a pickup backing up along the breakdown lane, probably trying to find their missing cooler. Sorry guys.

Details?

The strangest thing I have seen on the freeway are a washing machine on I-45 north near downtown and a couch at night on I-45 south in Texas City at night. Both were fully in tact

I have luckily never ran over anything crazy on bike but I have hit some nasty potholes on 610 in my Accord.

2x4, spare semi tire that fell off in the night, retread the blew off a tire next to me and took out my mirror, shoulder and blinker, football sized rock that fell off a rock wall in the hill country, and a few snakes on the back roads. You encounter a lot when you ride a lot. Trick is not to panic. When I hit the rock, it bent the rim and blew out the front tire. I was forced to ride it back to Leaky that way until I got to a station and borrowed a big hammer.
