Cool if ever there was a dream bike...

Nah, forget the Ninja: go to the roots:

The Mach III 500, two stroke, free air triple: now this is a bike!

One of these days....

Geez allergies have canned my ride today.

Wonder where a restored M3 could be had...

I've had a couple of 500 triples, they are fun but scary as . Weak frame, brakes, suspension. People mod them with modern USD forks and real brakes and brave the out of the frame and supposedly can really make the most out of the 65hp the engine has to give, but I've never ridden one. Besides, for the money it takes to get the bike to that point, I'd still rather have your Guzzi or a Thruxton or Sport Classic.

when i was riding a cb750K back in 1976, my Dad got one of those...he loved the feel of it, but if i remember right because of the air cooling they had center cylinder overheating issues...he kept it a couple of years and went back to a honda. seems like there was a 350 version of that bike too, but i am not recalling it as a certainty.

Yep....they had "issues". Another lovely bike is the Suzuki T 500 twin: not quite as fast, but more reliable, and still with that swarmy two stroke sound, feel and haze of blue smoke....

I was looking at the H3's last year and for a decently restored one, they are asking way too much..

Another is the Yamaha twin 350: amazing bike. One of these days...just maybe if I can get two daughters off the payroll....I love two strokes!
