If that's their story then it supports schwartzs suit that they colluded to circumvent his promotional rights by making arrangements for the race prior to Dorna pulling Schartzs promoters rights. They should've stuck to their original story which was they made a deal after KS lost his promoter rights. The real douce bags are dorna for not standing behind KS and waiting to make a new deal directly with the new org COTA. They did the same thing to the other guy who single handedly brought F1 to Texas. Besides motogp at TWS (Texas World Speedway) would have been interesting to say the least.

Who's going to pay 100s of millions to get that track and its facilities up to par?

It's sad how that place has gone down hill.

Kevin got screwed. He was too trusting. I hope he wins the suit.

That was a total move to keep a very highly respected racer out of the pits, when he was there to coach a younger rider. That sort of behavior just hurts the sport.

I guess they don't want the media in the press boxes so they knocked out all the window glass

Motogp is not interested in selling tickets, they make money on tv rights and contracts with the tracks. Seems a bit slanted for them to say racing costs are too high when they require 400 M$ tracks, and want to make the bikes cost no more than 1M$ each. Clearly the money is not going into the bikes, riders or teams in similar proportions. It's like a circus where the organizers and concession vendors make more than the clowns putting on the show.

MotoGP will never be at TWS (Texas World Speedway) in its current condition, period.

TWS (Texas World Speedway) would be a disgrace and a welfare event. People that go to these events have a certain level of expectation

The situation sucks in regard to KS. On the other hand, the chance to have MotoGP locally available works much better for me than flying to Indy or Laguna this year as we've done several times in the past. FWIW, the Indy round never felt anywhere near as cool as at Laguna. The hospitality was great, but it's just not the same level of track or vibe. COTA will hopefully fall somewhere in between the two.

Back at Laguna seca in '05, they really went out of their way to pay homage to Wayne Rainey and all of the older GP stars that were there in force that weekend and the sense of historical reverence to the legends was really cool. This situation at COTA is disappointing, and doesn't give me warm fuzzies in regard to how they're treating someone that I have a lot of respect for. We have a couple of friends that teach and have taught for Kevin at his school. He's a good dude and I hate the situation, but I'm still going to be there - just as he would if they'd let him. I hate the politics of it, but in the end I want to see the race. Maybe I'll pack a Schwantz shirt or two...
