WTF is that supposed to mean. I live 3 blocks from that intersection in a very nice house with a Dentist across the street a doctor next door a NASA Engineer on the other side and a Preacher 2 doors down. You don't know WTF you're talking about kid. Been there 7 years and still haven't seen those hooligans you speak of.

Unless there were vehicles behind you, you can't back that thing up enough to move into the other lane when it's clear?

Yea it sucks, and I agree it would seem to be safer to blow it and turn than try to change/re-merge into the other lane.... but unless/until the law is changed, <shrug>. It's also why, IF/when one gets a ticket for it...you can plead your case or go for a trial by jury.

I won't lie and say I wasn't one growing up bro. but you live and learn and hopefully grow up a little along the way. Sometimes my wife thinks I'm still one when I hang out with the old outlaw crowd though!

1. There are no magnets. It's an inductive loop
2. Some lights aren't sensitive enough to sense some motorcycles
3. A rare earth magnet can trigger the light

Whatever they are.. you have a better chance for them to read you if you
park where they intersect on the road.
I know some aren't sensitive enough.... but it would be gay if he didn't know you got to pull up to a certain spot for the lights to read he is there. especially when your riding alone...

my 2 cents.

the law is ambiguous in this respect. Simply put, you must be aware that the light doesnt turn for bikes and go around (or make all your left turns by going down a street making a u-turn coming back and making a right from the other direction) because, if you also read the other part of the law, its illegal to change lanes (ex: switch to the other lane when the light turns green) within 100ft before or after a stoplight.

Two related things..

I got a ticket in the mail for running a red light in my car. It was stuck on red in all directions and all of traffic was treating it as a 4 way stop. Went to the "court" which is you one on one with the judge, she checked the video after I explained it. She seriously doubted my excuse but once she saw the video she said "Congrats, you're the only person to ever get out of this...dismissed". Cost me time and parking costs still.

Also be sure to check any enclosed parking lot with automatic gates when you park. I did a gig at the GRB and when I went to leave it was past 11pm and the gates were closed. My bike wouldn't trigger the gate, couldn't push it open, no button or switch to trigger it. I eventually found a walk through employee gate on the other side of the lot, and had to push it open and walk the bike through. Was throughly after a 16 hour load in, op, load out..
