Need advice on throttle locks for touring

Hi guys,

I recently added a bunch of extras to my SV650 (windshield, top case + saddlebags, 12V socket, etc.) for doing a bit of touring this summer.

One thing I have been looking at but am somewhat reluctant to try are throttle locks. On the one hand I think having cruise control would be nice for hour+ long rides but at the same time I feel like the extra second (or tenths of a second) it takes to disengage the lock may make the difference for an accident to happen.

Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with throttle locks or have any general advice on them? Thanks.

I love my cramp buster for really long rides. I have a throttle lock on my VFR but I am scared to use it. I don't even have a clue if I should be scared.

Thanks! I just ordered a crampbuster. I've never heard of it before until now and it sounds great.

Throttlemeister sounds good but I don't think I can get it to work with my barend mirrors...

Had a buddy with one of those on a M109. Very slick mechanism.
