anyone listen to dave ramsey???

anyone listen to dave ramsey??? I just started listening to him like a couple months ago (2 months) and everything he says makes loads of since.

don't finance anyting but a house. no cars no bikes no jet skis nothing. his statements on this are. if you you can't pay for it cash then you can't afford it. that makes big sense to me. my car will be paid off in another 2 years (will try to pay it off sooner by paying more. I'm thinking about from the age 30 to 40 putting my total income into mutal funds or any fhing with big returns and our family just live on my wifes income (more than mine) I'm thinking after that we can both retire at 40. we're 27 now. what do you guys think.

well depends on how much you wanna retire w/. most people wanna retire w/ about 1 mil. in "savings" don't know how much you make, but thats alot of coin for 13 yrs.

yeah, my ex-boss has gotten into listening to D/R, makes alot of sense, it's all about disciplne. she's even got the envelopes from him.

and might as well as kiss your motorcycle racing goodbye.

wife makes enough to do that and more long as the car is paid for.

find inner peace and you do not need to worry about living luxuriously in your old age, and can concentrate on the beauty of life now.

... I think it's the shrooms talking.

Charles - sounds like a good plan. People overspend on houses and cars then they can't afford anything else. I intentionally bought a house that's 2/3 the cost of what I could've spent. One car is paid off and the other I'm paying off in a couple months. Debt free - wheeee :icon_bigg

Dude, I bought his book the Total Money Makeover and listen to his show ALL the time.

Seriously, he's my hero. He has a way of teaching that is benificial for someone who makes $10,000 up to $100,000,000 per year. What makes me upset is everyting is so simple after he explains it i'm like "Duhhh, i shoulda thought of that already" :P

You did not realize this before hearing him say it? Although, there are many theories about finance, for the most part it is best not to owe anyone anything. Although, a good business man plays on the other mans dime and you live in a debtor’s paradise. So, pay yourself first!

thats part of the course, preparing for those tragic/ life changing events in life that seem to always pop up.
first rule, get 1k cushion in the bank, then work from there and snowball the debt payments
