2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000

I don't much like the front end treatment and cheap-looking rear support tubing, but everything else looks like a winner.

That beak is hideous. Looks like they're trying to emulate the Tiger. Digging the ABS, though. About time they put that on the 1k.

I agree the beak is hideous. It is a styling call-back to dual sports and dirt bike that have their front fender integrated into the front bodywork. Rather pointless when there is already a perfectly good front fender just off the wheel. But everybody else has one on theirs, so...

No fan of the vertically stacked headlights either, but to me, Suzuki is paying homage to their GSXR heritage. The GSX1250FA (bandit replacement) did the same thing. So at least there is rhyme and reason.

When your riding in 3rd world countries it acts as a splitter for pedestrians.
Keeps them from clogging the radiator.

I'm just glad the Japanese are paying some attention to the big bikes. Lately, news has all been mostly smaller cc entry level bikes. I understand they view the emerging markets like China and India as the main growth area, while the USA and Europe are still struggling economically. Small efforts like this, as well as the "half-new" FJR1300 and the GoldWing-repackaged F6B, while not ground-breaking, are still appreciated.

I have to agree with Volfy on the rear tubing. Looks hideous.

Suzuki's 996cc twin = bulletproof fun. Suzuki hast made a good looking bike since... Oh yea- never!

I like that they've got radial calipers and likely some cushy touring add-Ons. Solid ST if I've ever seen one
