I work with on and off duty HPD/HC every other day on my gigs. I use to hate the popo. Now I understand them and don't.

They are just normal people doing a job being on by people every day. If you had to deal with crack heads, , , grown babies, couples beating each other over what is for dinner and generally dealing with the worst of society, you'd be a right too. Cops smoke pot, do coke, get drunk, like to go fast, , eat, sleep, and just like the rest of us.

Next time you "run into one" try treating them not like a cop or your enemy but like someone from your church and they will get out of cop mode real quick and instead of a ticket you just made a new friend.

I know it sounds whack, but having OL Disorder has taught me a lot. I agree this was in the wrong, but so was the rider. Take a , add a , you got a mess ole child support.

Point being no damage to the bike or biker. If you stopped short and "tapped" another car on the road, no scratches and the other driver agreed to let it go, would you report it to the police or your insurance?

I don't see legit liability here. Officer just needs an attitude check, and he got it. Life goes on...

The one thing we will never know is what would he have done if there were no cameras. He was off but I guarantee seeing a camera in your face will make you think a little harder about your next move. I've had my run ins with the law and there were never cameras involved. I always lost! Just sayin.

I would take an chewing over tickets anyday. Some of you seem sooooooo sensitive Why shoukd he be fired???? Thats pretty harsh punishment for what had happened. Plus that chewing might keep him from getting freaking killed on his bike. I dont care if a car switched lanes 2 car lengths in front of you. why the would you completely stop in a moving lane........

This line of thinking is why cops in general are getting worse and worse as the years go on. So because they have to deal with scum they get a pass to be a ? So what if I deal with scum but I'm not a cop, can I be a ? What if by being a I decide to drive like an , could I not get a ticket for it?

I don't think the problem is with people not understanding what cops have to deal with, but with the double standards on how they get to live in our cities. I mean take that video for instance, lets pretend the guy wasn't a cop. If some random dude had hit they guy from behind and gotten out of his car like that what would have happened to him?

And unlike the rest of us nothing bad really ever happens to them if they get caught for it.

I wonder what would have happened if the guy on the bike ran into the back of the police car, everything else being the same, and then got out and chewed the cop?

Bet they wouldn't have shaken hands before the biker got back on his bike and rode off.

So why was it OK that the cop got to walk away?

Maybe a couple days off will help him reconsider how he treats the public. Remind him his gun and badge are not a free pass.
Who knows, maybe his example will help other LEO's be more considerate.

Bike gets stolen, who do you call
Wife is murdered who do you call
Someone hits you in their car who do you call?
When there's something strange, in the neighborhood... Who do you call?

Look man I'm not saying this exact cop was in the right but to be so vain to call all cops bitxhes or what have you is down right wrong.

Just because when you up an a cop corrects you (tickets or jail) does not make them a .

Was this rider in the wrong? No

Was he riding like a idiot? Yes

Sis the cop Handle it wrong? Yes

Should the rider of argued the fact? YES

Get your tickets and argue it in court.

Wrongs on both ends

But I can not stand when people bad mouth cops.

Please! And Houston is the worse. I never disliked cops until I moved here. They lie on paper to stock their case and pull a lot of stupid stunts. I have stupid cops even tell me how they do it and justify it by "that nds what it takes for the system to work".

That said and done, I think the rider was riding like a . Maybe because he was new or not confident in his skills yet. Had that same guy hit him with out that badge, he's probably been begging not to sue vs throwing blame and profanities. Badge of cage. I don't hate cops for being cops, but rather what their job turns them in to. I can give you story after story of giving them respect and they trying to take me to jail. I can tell you how they justify ticketing people as people think there's a quota and although there isn't it's not far fetched from their explanation.
That all said and done, I think firing this cop would be a bad call, but paid leave is too nice. Unpaid for 4- 6 weeks would be fair in my mind. I'd settle with 2 weeks and dome yuppie of anger management or something to learn to control their emotions during heated situations.
