Morphish and Volfy are right on. Figure out what you want while riding your 300. After some seat time on it you'll know what ergonomics suit you and what power characteristics you want. Once you have that in mind, hit the demo days to further refine your preferences.

Hmmm...I will add: can you control and be aware of your emotions while riding? If not, wait for the big bike.

Also, how often do you get really surprised while riding? If often, wait for the big bike.

Good advice right there. If I ran from the cops on a 1000 like I used to on my Interceptor 500, I'd be dead.

some good info in this thread. I started on a 600 (been riding for 6months) and plan on keeping it for about another year or so. I've learned alot but def still got a long way to go
