Need advice with new owners tickets

Hello all,

I don't post much on here. Just mainly lurk. Anyways on to the question I need help with.

I sold my bike last year and I being dumb, didnt take the plate or go to the DMV like you are supposed to to transfer the title or have a bill of sale

That being said, the new bike owner still has not transferred the bike into his name and is getting toll violations sent to my house.

Called the toll road authority and they said they cannot do anything with out a bill of sale. Talked to police and they said they cant do anything since I signed the back of the title like a noob so cant report it stolen. Only to send off a paper saying I sold it on this date and im not held responsible for his accident.

Is there any other ideas that i havent tried?? i know there will be a big flame up bout me being such a noob lol.

Only other option i have is to try to find him myself where he is riding the tolls.

If anyone knows this bike location or seen it around lemme know.

The HCTRA sends you a detailed list of the violations, right? They used to anyway.

If they do, see if he's consistent with his violations. If he is, set off to side of beltway with high-powered rifle and await your target. Be sure to wave at the news helicopters for us.

You should have filled this out back when you sold it. But go ahead and do it now:

This happened to me last year. I finally found the guys number and blew his phone up all day and night for a week. Even set my alarm clock to call him at 3am. He paid them and sent me a signed bill of sale to submit to the DMV.

sorry to hear that. Big lesson to learn here though.
Make the transfer with all info from buyer, or you are liable to get nailed like you did find out.
Get the full name/address/tel any info you can. With that, you are protected. Otherwise, you give them your property and they can ride with bike still in your name forever and not worry about tickets/troubles, since you will. Spread the word to your buds.

Look back and see if you have the vin number anywhere. Fill out the duplicate title form and then report it stolen.

Could be some fallout when they pick him up, but then again unpaid toll viloations can result in a warrant.. and you'll be hard pressed to explain it when they pick you up.

That...

Maybe fall out but if he's bring you greif and there is no paper work then it is your word against his. Say you had a verbal agreement for $X more and he didn't pay which would make it stolen.... I'm thinking $X should at least cover the tickets.

I see people riding dirty on their tags all the time and say them. Half are probably doing what your little is doing to you.

Good Luck.
