Yea, that's why I said "don't always". You can't always count on being seen or heard

Glad to hear you're ok.

Good thing you were riding defensively like we all should and slowed down...if you flew past it would have been nasty.

Hope you heal (and repair) quickly!

I'm curious about something - as you approached & began moving past the line of cars, which part of your lane were you in? Meaning, middle or left side or right side of your lane? I think about this sort of accident while I'm riding as well.

first - glad you are ok.

second - another situation where rider/driver impatience caused an incident.

well, it is actually possible that since they did not touch you, that they never saw you and did not realize you went down at all...glad you are ok and it appears the overal damage to the bike is minimal.

If you had a helmet camera the video may very well have the license plate

and you would have a cool video that would get you laid

I was in the middle. As they pulled out, they kind of forced me towards the curb.

I've actually used the horn at least twice before in similar situations and it must sound like a poot (fart), because know one seems to care or notice.

If you want to be heard

Glad you are o.k. I guess you are riding proof that helmets save lives and/or reduce-eliminate brain damage. Perhaps the stebel nautilus horn would help?

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/stebe...lack-or-chrome

Intermittent operation may be more effective than loud pipes that drone on all the time.

It is obvious the driver "caused" the fall. Still, inquiring minds want to know (and learn). Is there anything that could have been done either before or during that situation that could have saved you?
