So I Wrecked my R6

I was going down S Gessner Rd on my way to work. I was in the left lane and up ahead there was a metro bus stopped in the right with 3 vehicles behind it. So my first thought was "slow down, someone is going to try and hop in my lane". As I approached the third car (minivan) behind the bus, I hit the throttle a couple of times to let them know I was there. After they didn't move, I proceeded to attempt to pass. Sure enough as I got on the side of them, they made a quick lane change and I lost it and hit the pavement

The minivan kept going and I ended up on the grass. I hit my head on the curb, but the helmet did it's job. Back is mad sore and a bad bruise on my left leg. My bike is scratched up on the left fairing and the oil tank cracked leaving oil on the street. Luckily I have full coverage, so I expect to be back on the saddle soon!

Glad to see you made it out with just bruising and some soreness. I've been riding since June of last year and this is my biggest fear man...

Sorry to hear you went down and glad that you are doing fairly OK. Did anyone get the plate # of the mini van?

I'm sure they were looking in their rear view, so they had to have seen me go down. When I first saw them coming over, I thought about kicking it, but they were coming over so fast it may have made it worst.

that sucks! At least you don't have medical bills to boot.

If you need help dealing with insurance look me up in the sponsor section.

Be glad to give you a free write up since you just got screwed.

Blind spots will get you every time. Glad it wasn't worse. So am I right in reading that they made no contact with you?

Right. The van was literally an inch from hitting me so I think i hit my front break too hard and lost control.

They have actually been pretty helpful with no issues. I'll keep you in mind if things change.

Loud pipes help sometimes. I see people rolling their windows up. They know I am near.
