It's a boring drive. Take some music with you.

It is just like any other longer drive. There is not much to see when you drive over there; especially in the dark. The bridge being either the most exciting or most boring part... If you can, take a passenger to keep you company and someone to talk to, get rest prior to the trip, drink a lot, take at least two breaks and have good music. Once in a while, you pass a casino, try not to stop.

I do it all the time. It's 5.5 hours in a car if you go the limit the whole way-no stops.
At night I have managed in just under 4 hours doing a consistent 15-25 mph over the limit.
Boring drive though.

sounds like ya made average time for a round trip, especially adding in the time you spent for the purchase and loading and pee breaks! i drive alot too. went down to corpus today as a matter of fact. just about to flip 307,000 miles on my 99 chevy vortec v-6. still purrs right along. did about 93,000 in the last 12 months!

louisiana needs to hurry up with their road replacements from about the 10-20 mile markers...and many other areas too. only good thing about 'em is you just about cant fall asleep drivin' down 'em! those who've been know what i'm sayin'!!
