TMGP Go-Pro Footage Race # 9 & 16

Heres the video from TMGP Racing March 2, 2013. Keep in mind that this is the first time I have ever raced ANYTHING, and I am on a bone stock 2001 XR100R. I had a blast out there and definitely will try to make all of the Katy races. For the cost to thrill factor you cant beat TMGP!! Skip to 8:30 to see me crash on the cool down lap.
The card ran out before this race was completed.

you were not the only one to go down in that same spot AFTER the checkered flag...seems like about 4 guys did the same thing...
Hey it just dawned on me, I did not go down all weekend... I did run off in the grass twice, but never swept the pavement... cool.

Good meeting you too Rob as several others. That's definitely the most fun I've had on two wheels for the lowest cost. Can't wait for next Katy round

Awesome!
Nice to see myself in front of you the entire 5 minutes of the race #9 until you pass me after almost losing the rear tire on turn 4. Thanks for the video.

that looks like so much fun. i have an old xr80 out in my shed that would be perfect for this. only thing i'm worried about are those old drum brakes. how would they hold up to track riding?

btw why do so many crash on the cool down lap?

the drum brakes would work ok for the sprints, might get dicey during an endurance race though.
I think so many went down on the cool down lap because of the cold and wind in combination with a relaxing mentality that the race was over and that led to a lack of focus...sort of the human in us coming out.

I was not riding with you out there but it looks like you could change your lines to make it harder for people to pass and also change them up for riding a slower bike to were your lines are more swoopy so you can carry as much speed as possible because you are on a slower bike.
not on the cool down lap. O' no! Looked like a lot of fun.

Thanks I learned a lot for sure, looking forward to next weekend.

Gabe- I agree, I had no idea what I was doing but now that I have got on the track once I have seen my lines were . I'm used to dirt riding and realized I wasn't hitting the apexes at all. Also piping and jetting the bike and changing gearing .
