What do you think about cutting an exhaust can down?

2001 cbr929rr yoshimura exhaust. I'm thinking of considering of cutting the exhaust can down a bit, any negatives? CraigRR is going to help me do it since he's done some. I may loose a little back pressure? Im more of a performance over cosmetics/sound type of guy. Reasons I want to cut it down is because I feel like its fairly quiet and im also just bored of the exhaust, would like to make it a bit louder and it sounding bad would be nice. Obviously this is basically a one way route sooo better make sure i make the right one

How many inches should I cut before it affects any performance? Is this a bad idea? What are the pros/cons?

craig has done enough of them to know about them...dont go too short though..may affect bottom end torque..and may get a flat spot in performance..

keep at least 1.5 foot

Go for it, sounds better and doesn't seem to take away from performance

Gots to ask...what are you trying to achieve here?

Yeah, gives it a slightly more aggressive tone, and looks more modern on older bikes like mine
