Was said earlier. Damaged in transit. The mechanic who works for the dealer bought it off them. and is where it is now. if your truly interested in this bike, go look at it, i will let him enclose all the details

$8k might sound cheap, but you pretty much gonna keep it for good. Even if it were totaled, there should have been a certificate of destruction. There are plenty of leftover stock on liter bikes selling for $10k-11k, I would just as soon spend a couple grand more and stay legit. But... it's your money.

Just saw an '11 CBR1000RR selling for around $11k at WWH. '12 ZX11R's are everywhere at $11-12k.

Bike is legit, I know the owner and can vouch for him. Im sure if you call he will tell you about it and why there isnt a title. The reason for the damage is UPS smashed the crate it came in.

Just getting mashed in a crate does not mean you would not get a title. If it did get messed up in the crate, the shipper, or their insurer, would have had to paid for the bike and they would have taken possession of it to do with as they please. Tell the guy to post the VIN, what does he have to lose by doing that?

Probably no title because it has an MSO only and that's the way it will stay. Insurance company has the MSO and it will never see DMV for registration. So technically, UPS/Insurance did not want a motorcycle in their name so this is how it goes....They would have had to pay TT&L. I'm just guessing...

Okay, now that makes a bit more sense. I bought a leftover NOS S83 a couple years ago and it came with a Certificate of Origin, not a title. County Assessor had no problem taking the CoO and processed my TT&L.

Sounds like the insurance co paid the claim and just kept the CoO.

No offense to the seller, but still, I think $8k is a bit much for a bike you could never ride on the street or even prove ownership.

A year or so ago, I came close to buying an almost new Gixxer1000 from an Australian who imported the decked-out track bike from Down Under - full Ohlins, Brembos, Marchesini forged wheels, the whole nine yards. He came down to $7k and I'm sure would have taken less, since he was moving and would rather not take the bike with him. Tough choice to shy away from it, but it was too much of a track-only toy for me.

From what I read, it makes perfect sense that there is no title.
