I still want to be able to get on the bike and ride any time I want, that's why I haven't fully gone into track mode.

Track and lately the dirt is awesome! You left dirt off the poll. I have a Zuma 125 when I'm ready to murder the streets.

I **PREFER** track but it seems that I am always working and/or trackdays don't align with my schedule, so I am **FORCED** to ride the street. I know when I am done with a trackday, I get so much of "it" out of my system that I don't ride the street for 1-2 weeks.

I don't ride the street like an though...just overpasses

Track or Street "POLL"

I've been back in Houston over 4 years now. In that time period I've purchased a street bike twice, and eventually gone back to being track only.

The roads here are boring
The ones that aren't are patrolled or gravely
The traffic sucks
The drivers suck

If I lived somewhere waaaayyy outside of town (well beyond Katy where I'm currently at) I might consider another street bike. As it stands, I'm track only.

If this was posted on wfo I bet the results would be totally different...lol This sport tends to suck up alot of my free time and money. Buts its my passion and it seems to be all I think about at times. I dont see anything wrong with it being "track track track track" as long as Im still making time for my family, and . I like the enviroment at the track, the smell of fuel in the morning, and for once I can say I dont mind waking up early as fuuuuuuuuuuug with little sleep. The anticipation before track days.. the comrodary between all us fellow track riders...... The corny riders meeting......having to wait forever on a stall when nature calls after putting on those tight leathers....lol Everyone has there opinions, but I wont knock the street even though I dont ride anymore. I used to ride the forest every weekend wih crazy bastards like bevo, hugo!!!lol but now Ive found my nitch!!

@brandt.....your right dirt is freaking fun and if you have never ridden a motocross track its a must......gotta love cheap fun!!

@ obed that comment was priceless!! You should tell us stories this weekend at the races about when you stsrted riding years ago. Your first bike had wooden wheel right!!?

+1000

I do as many TD's as I can, and have considered selling my street bike bc I do ride the track quite often....but I just can't bring myself to give up the option of jumping on the bike for a back roads cruise. I'm also one of the organizers for ASR, and I really enjoy riding with others and helping them hone their skills on the street. It's also a forum for me to be able to help others get to the track so they CAN push it in a safer environment and inevitably become better riders altogether.

The track was fun and had wanted to race but meh. Life took me in a different direction.

Now I cruise low and slow on a cruiser and enjoy every minute of it.

Once I rode the track, I lost total interest in the street. Only ride street to commute, and I don't even do that very often. I feel much safer on the track pushing it than I ever did acting like a fool on the street. Plus, you can't get any speeding/traffic violation tickets on the track.
