Every skill level is welcome!! I've helped beginning riders scared out of their minds, wouldn't even ride on a street, all the way to up-and-coming racers (most of became faster than me)!

I would not take that new CBR to the track buddy! happens at the track all the times, you have no way to control other riders sharing the same track with you and if you go down or get taken out, you are on your own from that point on, most likely your bike will not be covered by your insurance company and you medical bills will have to be paid from your own pockets. The best way is to get a cheap track bike maybe a 600, that way even if you go down your repair cost will be much lower than the 2012 CBR.

Makes perfect sense! I'll take that advice!

Yea Join a SMR or any street ride where there are qualified instructors and no noobs. Cuz this wont happen on a street ride tyberube

If u want to improve ur riding ability go to the track.

In all fairness, Frank didn't say don't go to the track. He is saying exactly what I do: have a cheap 600 track bunny. Good advice IMO.

BTW, welcome from MoCity SL.

I never said dont go to the track, just suggested to get a cheaper bike to crash!

On the other hand, yes the rider that went down fully admitted that he was riding out of his limit, good thing he did not put anyone else in danger, but guess what? We all stopped to help after this incident, Billy called his friend to come with a pick up truck for his bike and the ambulance was called before anyone left the scene, in other words he was not left alone out there! Another recent accident was Lawrence's wreck not too long ago, again as a group, we held the driver responsible until the cops showed up, i personally went to grab the other guy's insurance and driver's license just to make sure he did not run, after all said and done Floyd went back home and came back with a trailer to pick up Lawrence's bike and even got him a burger before sending him to the hospital...... for all the noobs out there thinking about doing track days, first consider all the risks involved and do your own research on what happens if you go down because most likely you will go down or taken down sooner or later!

We have been doing SMRs for 6+ years and looking at statistics, we have less accidents in the 6 years than any given month at the track, so which is safer? We might not have instructors on our SMRs but again it is just a Sunday ride, nobody is racing anyone out there, it is a nice cruise for the inexperienced riders that dont have the time, money, gear to go to the track, what is wrong with that?

Accidents happens everywhere wether you are driving your car or riding your bike, the only difference is that while on public streets, you are covered by your insurance for any medical bills and property damage resulting from the accident, now at the track it is what it is..... you are on your own!
