For this very reason, I make sure to slow down way in advance of a turn. That will give them plenty of time to see me and avoid me.

You do have to move around in traffic to be seen. The human eye notices movement in the peripheral vision a lot better than shape/color/texture. That means you could be cruising a steady 70mph in the left lane in bright high-vis gear on a bike with colorful graphics, and they will not see you out of the corner of their eye - even if they are not texting and are actually looking at the road in front. Better to move around and let the motion draw attention. You don't need to ride like an to do that.

Now if you are riding in a group, then of course you don't want to keep changing lanes, accel, and wandering around. But multiple bikes naturally draws attention, anyway.

Also stay close to the line so you can see in front of the car in front of you and they can see you and the cars coming up behind you in another lane and miles miles miles

Had a cage get off and honk at me for doing this... from 25ft behind me. In 45 downtown traffic. It works beautifully.

Except an Apache helicopter. An Apache helicopter has machine guns AND missiles. It is an unbelievably impressive complement of weaponry, an absolute death machine.

Yep, I'll deliberately do some extra unnecessary movement w/in my lane for the same reason.

This, thats what I do on my sportbike but If I'm on my Harley I get plenty of space, people stay the away from me. Its great! I can even filter cars and sit at the front of the light and nobody honks or anything. Night n day treatment riding my sportbike to my Harley.

Before my girlfriend got her license, she didn't realize I was swerving and swaying on purpose. She didn't believe me until she started riding.

I sometimes swerve to scrub speed when approaching a light, It usually backs off people--I should try it on the freeway.

happens every day... the newness wears off after a year or two and soon you wont even think twice or bother getting upset when it happens.

How about swerving erotically, that way the female drivers will stop you for your number. Lol

You crazy. Ride like that a cop will box you in and ticket you for reckless.

Ride defensively, if they don't see you make your self visible. Invest in pipes make yourself louder, wear hi-vis clothing make yourself brighter, and educate yourself that everyone's trying to kill you, and, make yourself smarter.

If in doubt just move. Lane or position on the road, if your uncomfortable move to where you feel better.

Ride defensively.

*No, she gets a special cologne... It's called Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.*

I stay ahead of traffic. If someone is tailgating me I take off. If someone boxes me in I split traffic. Not the best advice, but it is what I do.
