Lost the key to my bike.

So I misplaced the key to my bike about a month or so ago. I hadnt been riding because I needed do some work anyway. So I cant find my key, look all over the house for it, call my buddy who had the spare, he couldnt find the spare. I call dealers and look online for someone to make a new one. Basically all I found was people telling me to go to a locksmith. So today I tell Siri to find me a locksmith, she tells me there are 15 near me so I start calling the numbers. All but one was a dead number. So I go to the guy's shop and he cuts me 2 keys in about 5 five minutes and I am out the door 2 keys in hand but $25 lighter in my wallet.

I get home, uncover the bike, try to roll her over but the battery is just a little low. Top off the juice and she fires right up. I go to put my phone in the holder on the bars and see something in the bottom of it. Reach in, pull out my old key.

Made me so mad I had to go for a ride.

You found your old key, so you now have 3 keys. That's better than 2. This is definitely classified as a cool story, my bro.

I did the same plenty of times, it's either in the bike's ignition or the rear trunk. Thanks to eBay and Ace hardware, I also have 3 keys.

Don't see the $25 you spent as a waste. Is not a good idea to only have one key for your bike.

Keep the two new spares stored in different locations that you can easily remember. If you ride with your wife/GF, give her a spare she can hide in her pocket or purse. Specially if you are going on overnight trips.

Well I have no wife or girlfriend, so I gave it to my buddy. Unfortunately he moved recently and misplaced it as well. Either way I have 3 keys now. Gonna put one on my mom's key ring. She wont notice. HAHA

No, on the side of the ignition there is a code you have to get. Some bikes you have to remove the ignition completely some you dont. I think almost all, you have to take stuff off from around it.

All honda's have the key code stamped on the ignition lock somewhere. Most other makes do not.
