Track day MSRH 3/9-3/10

I have never done a weekend before. I have also never rode with ridesmart. Where do you sleep night of (camp, hotel?) Also first time riding with ridesmart, how do you know what group to ride with first time out? I will be getting on the website this week and reading rules.

Glad to see you interested in coming out.

Well you can camp at the track or get a hotel nearby. Since its your first td with Ridesmart send me a pm and I will get you a first time code which will give you 50% off and free leather rental.

As for choosing what group/level to ride with it all depends on your skill and if you have ridden the track before. I would recommend you ride lvl 1 and if your ready to move into a faster group a instructor will bump you up. Also since its your first td you need to do lvl 1.

If you have any other questions send me a pm and I will be glad to answer them for you.

Thanks
Mike

Thank everyone for responding so responsive. I have been to MSRH a few times so far. I have been riding with Fastline (in intermediate) a few times but I can't make it on the 16th cause of work so I'm trying to go the 9-10th.

I have probably done 3-4 days in novice and 1-2 days so far in intermediate. I do not have any camping gear as of yet so I'm in limbo of what to do as with that.

You would probably be fine in Level 2 at Ride Smart. It's the same as Fastline Intermediate.

Agreed. I've run Intermediate several times with both and speeds are similar. Just a little more traffic with Ride Smart.

This^

The grid is a lot larger with Ride Smart though.

Thanks. Just don't want to worry about getting stuffed ect since there will be more bikes on the track. I guess they still have the ~6 foot rule right?

I want to say that Ride Smart doesn't allow passing on the inside either, even in Intermediate. That's if I'm remembering it correctly.

I think Ridesmart even does a round robin for intermediate. That'll get you up to speed at a safe rate. You having done several track days I see, you can start in intermediate no problem.

Not asking your lap times, or asking you to time yourself, but Ridesmart intermediate at MSRH is everywhere from 2:10's to 1:50-ish

Yes there is a 6 ft rule for passing in L2. No inside passing.

Umayr--The gate is open the night before until 10 or 11. You can drop your bike/trailer off Fri night (or Sat night if you're just doing Sun). We leave our bikes there all the time. It helps to snag a spot and get set up to avoid trying to rush it in the morning.

kxthor911 You should be fine in L2 since you've done a few TD's and have done Intermediate and did okay. There are hotels in Angleton, about 10 min from the track. You can also camp at MSRH if you prefer. Glad you are joining us!

Thanks for your response. I do not know my lap times. I know I'm slow I just go to ride. Never bothered with a timer.

not running 1:50 in intermediate...get out of int at 1:55 i think 1:50 would be a hazard
