Post Pilot POWER 3 review

I figured I'd try out the new Michelin Pilot POWER 3's this go around. Bill over at WWH gave me a great deal so I figured I'd try em out. Put 491 miles of aggressive riding on them today and they felt great. Air pressure when I left the house this morning (53) was 36 front 38 rear. They tip in to corners effortlessly. Very comfortable transitioning them. They did feel a little rough and bumpy at first so I dropped a few pounds front and rear. After that they felt great. Very sticky and never walked out on me today under hard throttle exiting turns. Overall they felt great and held up very well. Now lets see what kind of life I can get out of them. I'll be putting the pressures back up to 36f and 42r for back and forth to work. I'll update with more info as I continue putting them to use.

Thanks for the info, you bought the first set of Pilot Power 3's from Wild West since I stocked them a month ago. I'll be curious to see how your tires hold up on the 600 versus the second set going on a members ZX-10. My guess is they last longer than S20's, but will it be enough to make them a better choice than the $199 Bridgestone and Dunlops?

I've been riding the PR3's for about a year and a half now, and I've been averaging approx 11 - 12 K miles out of the rear, and 2 - 3 times that out of the front. Almost all of my riding is on the country roads around my home, and is usually a spirited or higher pace (avg 80 - 85 mph cruising speed - 140+ in certain areas). They have held up great under all riding conditions that I've put them through, from rain, to cold, to heat.

Looking forward to hearing how they work for you.

Got video footage. This dude can ride. My tires were too low this morning. Had a few times where the rear stepped out like I was on the edge. Then got some air and felt better. I had the BT 015 rear. 3 rides approx 1200 miles and the tire is 75% done.

I'm running the Pilot POWER 3's, not the Pilot ROAD 3's

We shall see. I don't think Gary commutes on his 10 though. Strictly backroad rides. I think he's mounting his this week.

It's cool. Everyone's been mixing them up. They just came out about a month ago. No ones really tried them out yet.

They'll probably be my next hoops. I loved the Pures and these are supposed to be better. I have S20s now, they're great but something about the Pures I really liked.

Hope they work well for you. Less than 2k on a rear tire must be frustrating.
