I have been on the road since 1990

That is up until last year.

I was a truck driver at age 20 while getting my first degree. After I got out of school, I just kept trucking.
I'd do about 120,000 miles a year.

In Dec. 2009, I could not pass the physical due to a hearing loss in my left ear.....whatever, it kept me out of the Military when I was 17.

I did not want to shell out 5K or more for zero career advancement.
I was going to take my experience and use it to climb into the admin side. Its been a loooooong 3 years.
I did not come off the road in 2010 when my med card expired....nope.
I jumped on a bike in search of New Mecca. For 19 months, I lived off the bike(s). tent, sleeping bag, etc. I was on a Ride-A-bout.
After Dec of 2012 I went back to the full time workforce.

it is hard as to stay put......I now know how Alcoholics feel.

Anyone else have something similar? Retired .Mil? Pilots?

meh, I probably still keep driving if I could carry a dual sport on the trailer (did that for about 7 years).
2009 put a huge damper on my retirement goals... Now I gotta work for 10 more years and live without some stupid I probably did not need in the first place.

Toss in the New breed of DOT and FHWSA bullshit, I am sure I would be hating it.

Take in everything you see... dont let bad people ruin your day.
I am sure I became institutionalized at some point, breaking that takes a while, but it goes away. The desire to roam NEVER stops poking you.

Studies say after you've been doing it for a specific time, you'll never go back to normal..
it happens to me when I'm home over 2 weeks..

I got away from professional driving and went to college. 10 years of that was enough for me
