Is A New Safety Gear Regulation???

I have been caging it a lot lately (I put my bike up for Hibernation, I am heading to Alaska for a Year) and been noticing quite a few riders dressed as follows (sorry no pics);
Helmet: GOOD
Riding Jacket : Good
Gloves: Good
Sneakers: Not my choice of gear, but
and finally....
[B]SHORTS:[B]??????

Did I miss the latest notification?

It isn't like jeans are going to protect you any more. Unless of course you fall on grass. Trust me. I was in jeans once and I got tore up. I was wearing Daisy Dukes after the crash. Lol. But yeah all that gear and shorts looks goofy.

I think they say that denim will protect you for the first 3 inches. Mesh is like 15 feet and leather is like 30.

A little beat up is better than a lot beat up. I have seen lots of bike wrecks with blue jeans involved. They do not fair well at all.

The riders here in waco ride without a helmet, they wear shorts with a leather jacket, gloves and sunglasses and sneakers..

Yep, the word is out that you don't really need your knee caps anymore.

i wrecked my phiddy with gloves, helmet, tshirt, jeans, tennis shoes on and i gotta say the epidermas(sp?) on my right arm did a pretty good job at keeping my bones from getting scraped up.. i got about 10 ft of sliding out of those 4 layers of skin.. and ya know what? it was free.
