Kelly Blue Book for Motorcycles

Anyone get on this site and wonder why the makes they have listed on the page are off the wall brands?
http://www.kbb.com/motorcycles/
Suzuki, Yamaha, Triumph missing from the first page. You have to navigate to See All Makes in order to choose some of the popular brands.
On the plus side it is interesting to lookup some of those less well known brands and see what types of bikes they are.

Not discussing the price per se, just the makes they have listed on the first page. Looked up hte Benneche, good looking bike but made in China. Some of the other brands, Sears, etc. just interesting to see what type of bikes were produced.

Why is it for motorcycles? Looks like the average retail price they list for bikes I've searched matches NADA, plus it gives you a trade-in value. Both offer just a rough estimate anyway. I would use both. Can't have too much information.

My father bought a Sears motorcycle in the 60's just to around. After he got tired of it he returned it saying it would not do the top speed that was claimed

Use NADA book for more accurate values. That's what the dealer's use!! I'm not sure about KBB, but NADA publishes new books throughout the year (every quarter I think), so their values change. Dealer's want to have an advantage, so that's what they use. And they use that age old saying about the books anyway (go ask KBB or NADA for that trade in price then - right here, today, it is worth $_____)

LOL...it's all a game. What is someone willing to pay for the vehicle you are selling!!

Oh yeah! I actually went to their driving school way back in 1987!!! Good times - they had a Chevy Corsica and a Camaro with a steering wheel and brake on each of the front seats.

Is that an actual Sears house for sale? If so that is actually not bad looking. BTW, look at that Benneche bike mentioned on KBB. I know it is chinese but it actually looks good.

So my off-time I just look up some of the names of the bikes and see what they look like.

Yep, I did a search and Sears sold kits for some pretty nice large homes that the owners are really proud of.

For the bikes I have searched, NADA prices vary with KBB by atleast 15%.My search always included 'not so' common bikes. So my point might not be valid. For cars the dealers never look at the KBB values, even if they look that up, they never pay that and I am speaking from personal experience(traded in atleast 20 cars in the last 7 years). I wish everybody has access to one number and goes by it(just like carmax) which removes lot of guess work and strain, but I guess that topic is very subjective

GRSA, sorry for bringing up something that you did not want to discuss..

It is all good. I learn so no biggie, and we got off topic with the houses anyway but that was kind of interesting to see them still standing and for sale.
