I don't know about them.
Imo Honda should have reincarnated the Valkyrie tourer, not try the reinvent the Goldwing into a Street Glide.
Have you ridden it yet?

yeah still not sure how i feel about it yet. and i agree about revamping the valk. this just seems kind of like a limp wristed attempt on widening the GW line up. i haven't ridden it yet but i'm sure if it rides anything like a regular GW then it will be a superb hwy bike.

i've gotten a lot of interest in this bike over the last few months. so we'll see if it translates into positive feed back and good sales.

I dunno. The F6B has a certain charm to it. A lot of folks are intrigued by the new GW bagger. I think Honda gambled right this time. As nice as the Valkyrie was, it was never a commercial hit. Right now, GW is suffering from the same problem Cadillac found itself in 2 decades ago - the quitessential oldman's luxury boat. Cadillac has since revitalized the brand and came out with cars that attracted a much younger customer base.

The Goldwing brand needs exactly the same. Honda knows the GW platform cannot compete with the K1600... not without spending millions in R&D and risking alienating the current customer base. The F6B is a stroke of genius to move the age demographic downward without spending a lot of R&D cash. The bagger look is cool and better suited for shorter distance riders that don't need all that luggage and Xcountry accouterments.

Patrick , this has been on Honda's drawing board since the new 1800 came out in 2000, the only sad part is that it takes that long for them to bring something new like this to market...

Fun Fact: Honda did not want 2 power cruisers competing in their own line up so they chose the VTX line over the Valkyrie.....A mistake is you want my opinion...

another demographic is the police officers. i've had a good handful of motorcycle officers interested in this. now HPD is all harley but the out lying cities and counties i think can pic and choose. personally i think this would make a great patrol bike.

but i think you're right, GW has a bad stigma of being an "old farts bike" and i hear it all the time at work. when someone comes in looking at for a high quality touring bike and i point them toward the GW(and they are younger)usually the response i get is "i wouldn't be caught dead on that". and really that's a shame. Wings are so much fun to ride, even me being a smaller guy can handle a GW. anyone who hasn't ridden one just assumes they are big, clumsy, cumbersome machines. and it's just not true. maybe the F6B will break some of that negative stigma.

I like a lot the F6B. Very different from the old school GW. I like the HD Baggers but to expensive IMHO. Will you take a VROD as a trade in?

LOL..Sorry JR.
