Well I was due for an oil change...I was going to do it before testing out my new oversized brake rotor but wanted to go ride. I had a couple of forest rides off road and put about 300 street miles on it. Last time I checked the oil it was good about a month ago. I dont know of any burning of oil issues but I wasnt really checking as much as I should. I will find out if it is burning oil now and do a complete top end rebuild possibly....

With a bike that only holds 1.8 quarts of oil I should be checking it every ride....Im assuming that was the problem. Everything else looked good..

I should feel guilty too. I don't check the oil level in my bikes. Usually I take it for a oil change and the next time it gets checked is at the next change. I should make a habit to check regularly..

Keep it up, your getting closer to my history.

They are still worth it though. I am working on my search to get another tard soon.

Wow. That's a lot of wear.
Always check the oil on the tard before every ride and use the good stuff.
With the low capacity, you really have to keep an eye on it.
Might even run it a small bit over the line, but not much.
You could add an oil cooler if you wanted to increase the capacity some.

Yea Ive heard of some desert racers doing it. Whats funny was Ive read all kinds of stories about guys over filling thier oil and having it come out thier air box or blow out thier oil seals on the shifter. Thats what Ive been afraid of...not lack of oil
