My Bell star carbon seems to be good quality
Light, excellent fit, good ventilation and killer looks

It definitely wasn't cheap, but well worth the coin, this of course is just my opinion.

I've been enjoying my Arai RX-Q. You can usually find a special on last year's graphics about this time so they are only moderately unaffordable. I've heard really good things about Nexx, if you want to tread off the beaten path.

New Bell helmets are supposed to be very good. I wear Arai, but my next helmet may very well be a Bell Star.

icon is pretty affordable, their 2013 line up looks pretty good.

that being said, and in light of recent events. i believe fitment is everything. as well as quality. MY next lid will be an Arai Signet Q.

HJC and Bell are good quality helmets. I've never owned a bell, but might look into one this spring (if the HJC Lorenzo replica isn't out by then).

Fitment is absolute king. I have a Shoei head, and as much as I like other helmets, I've yet to find another brand that fits me melon better. I haven't tried Schuberth but have heard a lot of good things about. Might try that next.

I'll say go try on many different lids and see which one fits best. Fit should be very snug but not crushing. There will be some break-in, the foam will give a bit, and the helmet will conform to your head shape. I have two X-11, one of which is a spare. The Spare one feels very tight compared to my regular wear, which hugs my head perfectly.

If they have it on close out that means that any of Shoei's distributors, including us, have it on close out as well.

yeah fitment is the big one for me, i have cow licks everywhere so helmet hair is a guarentee.

your still lucky you walked away man, but when i crashed at abot 85 or 90 mph my helmet didnt have but one scratch on it that was new.

haha i guess all that airborne training from the military helped me to keep my head off the ground
