first let me say that i absolutely respect "The ride." i'm fully legal, passing all state requirements and classes and currently possess an endorsement. i have 1k miles (and quickly growing) under my belt with much more to come. i am not reckless on the road. i wear all proper gear every single time i get on that bike. i am attentive and focused no matter how short or far my destination is. i use both my brakes like the book and class say and i've studied techniques. i dont take short cuts when riding. there are people on this board who i've met with in person and rode with who will tell you that i know my pace and i am comfortable being the slow one, even slower than a sweeper (lol), and waving anyone on to pass me.

i understand my experience is small but it is this understanding that makes me confident on this bike and any other bike i get. maybe my evasive maneuvers arent up to par with a more experienced rider but my current riding style is also less aggressive than an experienced rider, which means i wouldnt be in evasive situations as often.

i started this thread to share my experience with HSBK. if you'd like to debate bikes for experience level, i'd ask that you start your own thread instead of trolling me.

good on ya. keep it up!

Duly noted! I'll look up the details for that meet tonight.

keep doing what your doing, enjoy the ride where ever it takes you.
hey on another note, im signed ip for track day on march 9
so come to the track and check it out. it will be fun.
Shout out to you sir! That day changed my riding perspective. Everything seemed to slow down after that day... it was an eye opener and i learned so much on that 1 SMR than i did any where else leading up to that day.

about the track, im trying to get more street smiles plus break in my bike before i hit the track. 1500 miles cant come any faster! i cant even go past 6k rpms! lol

Amazing ride and pics. Like most of these guys have said, just respect the bike and stay in your comfort zone. I've been on this site for a while. Most guys have good natured ball busting.... Racer X is the resident jackass. Ignore him. Enjoy bike and the ride for a long time to come Dude.

Racer X started as Racer A but every time he gets banned he goes one more letter up the alphabet for his new name , so don't worry, it sounds like you got the right attitude just respect the power.

Remind me never to step in that store then. I'm liable to walk out buying the whole place.

Was your 696 a white one? I think I've seen you terrorizing hwy6 in Mo City. Saw a white one stopped at, hehe... starbucks in front of Lowes, when we stopped the at the AT&T store on the other end of the same building.

lol, its 1000cc, its such a night and day difference. i'm running the less powerful map though, full power is cut 25% and torque is cut in first 3 gears.

***Quick Update 2/19***

just got back from having my frame sliders put on, which they didnt have in stock that day of purchase. waited 1 business day.

let me just say they have definitely calmed my nerves regarding paying up front for ordering parts to receive them at a later date.

even if you're not buying a bike they got a load of parts to sell so its a good idea to go take a peek. ill be back next pay day

Congrats!
I have two whites left. 1 new and 1 demo. White will not be a color option for 2013. Only black and yellow, and the special edition tri-colour

Don't want to point out the obvious, but I guess I'm kinda going to point out the obvious.........

The jackass with the 2010 Aprilia Tuono being a jerk toward the guy with the 2012 Tuono???? Twin verses V4, little boy little syndrome anyone????
