I dont worry about a 5-6 year old helmet being ineffective, but I just dont see how a 5 year old helmet could fit for . After about 2 years, the foam is broken down to the point that I dont like wearing them anymore.

Shoei RF1100

Mine is 1 year old and its fine. Maybe replace the pads inside. Also i keep my helmet inside when not in use

My helmet is still tight. And just change the pads. Its like a brand new helmet all over again

I should add...

I had an RF1000. Pads aren't replaceable.

The 1100 is "renewable". A much better helmet for practical purposes.

Thanks for all the replies, I wear a size medium. I'm ldefinitely looking for something in matte black. The main reason I want a new lid is weight.. My crappy scorpion seems really heavy.
