She should pull over those cars with just the drivers in them. I am starting to see more and more of them hogging the 59 HOV, ever since they started the Managed Lanes thing. I think the Managed Lanes is supposed to be ONLY starting from just before BW8. Before that and back through SL and Rosengerg is still HOV only.

Not only on 59 HOV it is getting really bad on 290 as well! At the last second they dart off into the main lanes. I have seen at least 5 or 6 wrecks when this occurs. Give people an inch, they will take a mile. It is just human nature to get away with whatever they can, as long as they can!

True. But even the signs that say "2+ __am to 11am and 2pm to ___pm" don't have the motorcycle now. They did before.

Which brings up anything thing. Why is it not HOV from 11am to 2pm? I always forget and get on anyway... then have to exit asap.

$5.00 for 45 HOV I think after 4 PM. It already says $5 after 6AM. When I go north before 4, it says $2.50.

If I take the beltway, I pay $4.20 each way every day.

+1 on that I see this all the time. They could make a fortune. I like the people that go through the plastic posts, they need to stop them too. They seem to do this without regard to man or beast.

I was referring to the open section from Rosenberg on up to about Murphy/Wilcrest. The signage along both NB/SB only says HOV, and there is no way to collect toll. I believe the Managed Lanes that allows both single occupant vehicles paying toll and HOVs start when you going into the segregated lane, which changes direction morning/afternoon. There is a big sign at that "gated" entrance near Wilcrest showing whether Toll traffic is permitted.

I see a lot of 59 drivers do what Posterchild2 described: hogging the HOV lane right up to the segregated lane entrance, then dart off into the main lanes without paying a single cent.

A couple of times I did see a squad car parked in the HOV medium and pulling drivers over during morning commute. It's so rare that it does not seem to deter violators.

Tuesday night, I was in the HOV inbound between Telge & 1960. It was about 9:00 pm and I see a car behind me coming fast. I look down and I'm doing 90 mph ( I know....bad rider) and this car comes right up behind me and gets right on my .

I finally have had enough of it and move to the right about 500 feet from the West Road exit and this guy blows past me. It was a HPD cruiser and the guy never even looks over at me. Just blows past and keeps going.

Shipley's must of had a fresh batch coming out of the fryer or something!....j/k

Lucky me!

When my wife and I are entering the 290 HOV lane at the North Post Oak station I occassionaly see Metro PD stopping violators before they enter. I have to admit that I roll my window down and laugh at their stupid for thinking their time is more valuable than all the other single drivers that have to be stuck on terrible 290 traffic. It really makes my day!
