HOV Lanes

Im sure this has been discussed before so i apologize in advanced

So there i was riding along the HOV lane when a Fort Bend County Sheriff pulls along side me and tells me to get out of the HOV lane...so i did of course, well i caught back up to her and had her pull over and asked her about it and what i was told was it was illegal for a motorcycle to be in the HOV lane AND it was safer to be in the main lane because of the debris that gets moved to the HOV lane, of course my reply was "so your telling its safer to be around cars weaving in and out around me.? So does anyone know the law on this....cause i definitly dont plan on not using the HOV lane anymore....

I think motorcycles can ride on HOV. Not sure about the debris part though. Kudos for you to stop the sheriff and question her.

On the other hand, may be she was checking you out

Yep. We can ride in the HOV.

On a related subject, I actually had a kid (20-22?) driving a neon the other day in the 45 HOV. He was doing 60. I came up on him, and he pulled to the side and waved me by! Cool as ! I have never had that happen before. I could have cranked it up to 115ish, but I would never do such a thing.

They removed it from a bunch of the Katy I10 HOV/Tollway lanes. Doesn't stop me, I think they just had too little space on all the signage.

While she had a valid point about the debris, i would rather deal with that then the cars crossing all over the highway at 7:30 in the morning....

I think they should ban metro buses in the HOV. I get stuck behind those doing 40-50 all the time.

I don't mind them being there... except when they stagger in both lanes so faster traffic has to zig-zag. And there's always one car that won't keep the flow going.

That and they exit illegally on a regular basis (at least outbound near Katy).
