3/3 NOOB day info

It's almost here and the weather looks to be fantastic. Just a few thinigs for the noobs headed out this weekend.

The gates will be open by 6:30, registration and tech will open at 8am.
Our first session on track will be a round robin at 9am. We will have a rider's meeting to introduce your instructors and get you paired off. The sooner we get everyone registered and teched, the sooner we can get going on the first classroom session.
Be sure to have your bike ready before Saturday morning!!! Tape head light, tail light, blinkers, and mirrors. I'd suggest takiing off the mirrors. and also pulling the fuse for the head light so the tape dosen't get all sticy and messy. Read Patrick's trackday guide for more helpful info. Be sure to bring plenty of hydration, we'll feed you but you need lots of fluids. We will be doing a classroom session everyother session so you'll need to get in and to the class room asap to maximze our track time. Should be a great day for learning to go faster, safer...........

Any specific questions, just post 'em up. Get plenty of rest and RELAX.....you're gonna have a blast!!!

Rod Miller is usually on hand, there is a link to his site on the Longhorn thread. Video is for instructor critique, and the cameras are usually too busy with playback and track time that we really can't download and burn a disc for everyone. Bring your firewire compatable laptop with edit/capture software and you can download your footage as you watch it with the inst.

What capture/edit software do we need Buck? We will be bringing our laptop, and it can burn a disk for all who want to take it with them. BUT, bring you own blank disk. I can also email them to you if you like.

Also wanted to thank Patrick and his wife for helping out Laura with her gear, and saving her $175 with the discount! She sure was appreciative! :notworthy

What ever software you prefer. Make sure you are firewire compatable as that is the only in/out source on the cameras. I will warn you that you will need to be fast and effiecient as the cameras are only in the pits for 30 minutes and some of that time is critique, battery charge/changes, etc. Also we need to be rewinding and fast forwarding to the different clips and will stop and start with the student at hand. It's very difficult to get a clean uncut capture. You can take the tapes if you wish to provide replacements, or alternately bring your own miniDV tape to be recorded. (best solution)
