Tire Frustration

Currently I'm running the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT front and rear on my R6. 2 months ago I got my tires put on and the rear is already at the wear indicators.

Does this sound right? 2,000 miles in 2 months and the tire is already done? I'm thinking that I need to find a new tire that lasts longer but I honestly don't want to sacrifice performance.

My last pp 2ct rear lasted just over 5k miles. Are you running enough air in there? Run a lower than necessary tire pressure and the carcass flex will accelerate wear.

And those tires should have lasted longer unless you do allot of wheelies and burnouts

What chu talking about wheelies make front tires last longer though

This is the main reason I'm skeptical about changing tires. I average about 5K per rear and can stretch the front to 15k ( new set, 2 more rears then new set again.) I run the BT016's

I got more than that on the Busa with that tire . That was with several trips to the drag strip too.

Do they have any track use left on them for a level 2 pace or are they completely toast?

TALKING ABOUT A FLAT SPOT IN THE MIDDLE? AT THE PACE YOU RIDE THERE IS NO WAY THE SIDES ARE GONE ON JUST THE REAR

I run 42psi in the rear and I check it weekly at the latest.

Is that the shiny metal line? I actually got 4K out of a 180/55R17 BATTLAX BT-003, including track days - novice track days that is. Now have a Dunlop Sportmax Q2 160/60 ZR17.

Front is a Dunlop Sportmax Q2 120/60ZR17 with over 6K on it. It's close to needing replacement.

Many will say that is too much, but that's what I did for commuting on my 2ct's, and like I said just over 5k miles. I get about a 3:1 ratio on rears to front as well. My bike is a little lighter than yours but I don't see 50-60lbs making them last half as long. If you want distance, road 2ct's are awesome, but they don't grip like the pp's do.
