He probably said that because I am a little more known for crashing and he is just known for going fast.

Anyway, I didn't even know it was Doug at first I saw something red WAY I mean way out off the track during the session but it never occured to me it was Doug. Then I pitted out and saw that Becky had a real worried look on her face and said Doug hasn't came around and I go oh and headed back to turn 7. Doug was aleady gone when I saw the bike being loaded by Sanchez bros.

I think it was around 140 mph get off and Doug fared very well thank . He definetely is a cool guy so helpful to everybody. I am glad he is ok. As far as the bike if anybody can fix it it is him. Hope the hand heals up fast Doug let me know if you need anything. You're a good bud.

Well, to answer the where part - MSR Houston - the high speed left hander at the end of the back straight - I think it is turn 7 ?? Now for the what happened part? All I or anyone else can do is best guess. I had just passed a guy in that corner - went around him on the outside, and it felt like the front washed out, but I can tell you it happened VERY fast - no warning. I did not feel like I was riding over my head, or pushing it to the limits, don't think I touched the brakes. The guy I passed said he thought I fell because I was outside the raceline. He said the front definitely washed out. I'm not sure what he meant by being off the line causing the crash, unless I was off the part of the track that had the most rubber and cleanest due to traffic. My guess is that the track may have been dusty or dirty where I went. My tires were new at the beginning of the day, so that should not have been the problem - what ever the cause, I'm sure I had a sudden and unexpected loss of traction, and you know what happened after that. Thanks again to everyone for your thoughts and well wishes.

You probably hit some loose stuff on the track. :eh:

Glad you're only sore Doug. Definately the fastest turn on the track to crash. If you were at your normal pace you were well over 130 or so. That outside portion of the track is always less predictable than the race line, but from where your track marks started you weren't really out that far. First crash we've seen in that corner. Looked in the pm and didn't see anything unusual, so this one will remain a mystery until you remember more. Usually takes me a few weeks to put the whole scene back together in my own mind. Let me know when you get the bike fixed, and can fit that FAT hand back into a glove.

Glad to hear you're OK Doug. I rode the bike in on the back of the crash trailer and it wasn't pretty.

I really didn't think I was silly far off the line either. I was definitely at the higher end of my pace - my routine there is on the gas nearly to the first brake marker, then back off the gas - no brakes - no downshift till past the cone on the left and have the bike straight up, downshift and brake for the bus stop. I'll keep you posted - I'll be back soon - Thanks!

That's awesome that Buck and MSRH mgmt. let you all reschedule. I was going to stop in the evening on the way back from surfside to watch the mini race but figured it would never get off.

I didn't ride, but I was there supporting my bf, Andy. I had a blast! I met a lot of great ppl and got to see my baby ride =).

I was freaked out when they said someone went down, but I didn't get to meet Doug, but I'm glad to know you are OK.

I can't for the next track day cuz I will be there!

Buck... Also the extreme inside line (ie passing someone on the inside enterance) there seems to be quite a bump. I thought someone bumped into me but I wasn't sure how. Looked back no one close no carange. Admittly the ZX-10 suspension isn't working near as nice at the R6. Only .6 seconds faster on the ZX-10 than the R6.

Doug's left hand looked like a bear claw.
Thought for sure he broke one or two bones.
