I went 6.98 @ 104 in the 8th at HMP on my mostly stock - stock wheelbase zx6r. Iv also seen the speedo in the mid 170's going around 610 loop one Wednesday and still had a lil bit left.. But as stated before these tachs tend to be off at high speeds. I'm a tall(slim)165lbs and bike had stock gearing at the time. I think it's very possible if conditions are perfect

You would be willing to go 175 on a public highway

Only at night with the lights off and a tinted visor. If I start at Kingwood Dr. on 59 I can hit 175 and be slowed back down by the time I get to the 1314 overpass. Starting around 70mph

There is an iphone app called speed pro that can give you gps corrected aversge and top speed plus the altitude, elapsed time and route! You dont need a liter bike to do a speed run with you, just post the results back with a screen shot of your phone, that easy

My 08 gsxr 600 will peg out at 170mph on the speedo, doubt the speedo is right though. Bone stock.

I know a guy named Curtis that ownes 2 1198's and he is trying to convince people at PP1 that he can go 200+ mph with him on it..... He is a big boy in the 240+ lbs category, we all just looked at each other and laughed then we went on a ride down 1489 and my bone stock 1098 got around him pretty easily and i said to him that my real top speed was only 168mph vs his 200+ mph bike, needless to say he never showed up at our rides again.

Frank, that is good example of someone seriously needing a speedo healer.
