sounds aweful fast for a 600

I think so. My nephew's 06 636 would do an indicated 173. That probably means 165ish. With a little gear, I dont think it would have had a problem pulling an extra 5-7 MPH.

You cant just add gear to them to increase top end. The dont have the to turn taller gears really. Adding 10 to the top end isnt that easily done.

I think it's possible but that last 30 mph is going to take a while....

It's all HP at those speeds.

The top speed I heard of on a 600 is 156. 170 seems to be a little stretched for a 600. May be lot of tail wind

Dean said they coming out of the draft and being clocked(the highest recorded) at 181 on a SS bike at Daytona. SS built bikes put down around 155 hp don't they and I bet they could put up a good top speed number. It could be done with money and work.

bike speedos are 8% optimistic on the showroom floor. Change the gearing, and it just gets worse. So figure that 173 indicated is AT BEST 159 actual.

155 is older 1K numbers and that does jive with 181 out of a draft with a perfect tuck and a light weight jockey
