ever feel like a dumb ?

I told steve since he was the one who helped me at the track with this issue.
I was not going to tell everybody, but it is just too good a laugh to let go.
Last week we went to the katy track for practice and i was going to get some time in on the crf100 that i had the kx85 front end cut down and put on, but i could not get the thing to run, it would idle fine but when i applied throttle it choked up and died... it would only run if the choke was on but would not go past half throttle that way (of course)...
I took the carb off and had left the carb cleaner at home so we just tried to blow it out, blow through the jets... nothing...so i did not get to ride it and see how i liked the new front end...
so today i was going to pull the carb and go through it with carb cleaner and see if i could find anything wrong with it...
i started to pull it off and noticed the choke butterfly was fully closed... i looked at the operating lever and it was in the position that i thought the butterfly would be wide open, i cycled the lever a few time to make sure it was not broken and sure enough, the position that i thought was choke off, was full choke... i put it back together and the thing ran fine... there was nothing wrong with it, just plain old head up my ....missed a day of riding because i was a dumb

Well at least your not the guy who just sold his old harley shovel here. The butterfly spring on the carb kept his bike from running for months, he almost sold it as not running.

check the oil, washing down the cylinders with choke on could possible contaminate the oil. do an oil sniff test just for grins.

Regarding the title of the thread: Pretty sure I do more than just feel like it 90ish percent of the time. LOL. Can I get a witness?
