Speedometer stopped working

My speedometer just stopped working .. i can see that cable which came out but i dont know where to put it back .. cant see under it ...
the cable does not look broken it still has that screw head on it .. so i guess i just need to put it back into the right hole and twist the screw head but i cant figure out where ... its a 2003 kawasaki ninja 250
plzzzz help ........................

Take the upper off for easier access. Very easy on the 250.
