SHNF 2/9-2/10

So finally got the XR running pretty good. (122 main jet caused a slightly lean condition lol) So me and a buddy will be heading out there for the weekend, pending the trails are open. This will be our first time out there so if any more experienced want to join, or inexperienced for that matter, everyone is welcome. We plan on camping saturday night and will be riding sat and sun. Any tips or info would be appreciated. IE Best places to park, camp, places to avaoid ect. Already have our OHV stickers and both bike have spark arrestors.

Chad, ill bring your kick lever back to you tomorrow. Ill give you a call.

What do you need for the forest other than a spark arrestor?

I would be interested in going, but I have only been dirt biking once in my life. If you don't mind slow folk I would be down.

Also anyway I can have a OHV sticker sent to me? Don't live in the houston area or any close to any areas that sell one...

A Texas OHV decal can be purchased by calling the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Customer Service Center (CSC). The CSC phone number is: 512-389-8917. The decal cost is $16.00 and can be paid for with a credit card. The decals are valid from September 1 to August 31 of the following year.

Call them up and have it sent to your own personal mailbox. It only takes a few days.

SHNF was amazing this weekend. I won't be able to make the ride on the 8th or 9th, I will be racing west of Houston.

Sometimes i go the wrong way and get lost though. Lol. I carry extra gas for that reason.

Would be cool to have a good MH forest trail turnout though.
Before your time we would have 15 to 20 people show up on any given weekend. Good times.

I am in most likely.
Which trailhead will you all park at on Saturday?
What time are you meeting at the trailhead Saturday?
I have ridden the SHNF quite a bit but am no expert but would be willing to give
you all a hand and run the trails with you.
PM me for my phone #

I think the easiest and best one is the trail head right past the Ranger station. It might even be the only one open actually...Kellys Pond is closed and has been for a while.

Those trails are pretty easy to navigate....Im not sure I will be able to make it as I might be going to Austin this weekend
