It is, and i use it for such, like the meet at KPOP at 11:30 today.
However, there are certain types of rides that have a history, and certain locations that you are basically trolling for a ticket...in the recent past, the guys on here who do those types of rides have gone to giving the time and meeting places out via PM... it has worked out better that way.
Several of the areas he mentioned in his announcement are areas that riders have trouble with on a regular basis... so if you are going to a ticket trap area, it tends to be best not to give a heads up..
and the less popular fact that there are also certain riders that are going to it up if they go, and by doing it via PM you can help assure that they are not on your ride... but hey, announce anything you want to anybody you want...

Really? he strikes me as the old wise type that avoids out street rides, chastizes young crazy riders with good advice, and gets into bed at 8:30pm.

100% safe, boring, and non-spontaneous.

Tour of Best rides inside 610. 9pm

Oh yeah obed, the "sorry as ride leader you didn't notice"

Come on now. Low blow. Also, I have never called myself a ride leader, baby sitter, mama, etc. in face I'm sure my plethora of haters would call me exactly the opposite.

I put together a ride to show some people some amazing places to ride. I don't promise no incidents and bay yah (hahahahaha spelling?) between point A and B.

If setting up the ride makes me ride leader then my mistake was not briefing the riders on my particular procedure for cops , etc

But man, we entered the roadway with ZERO traffic moving, out of anyone's way and definitely as safe as possible.

And if what we did was so illegal why didn't he hit the cherries when he saw us under the bridge?

Why didn't he hit the cherries when he saw my ragged out streetfighter pull out or Jace's more common gsxr sixer pull out???

Noooooo he didn't attempt to get us as a group. He didn't even care we were under there. He just wanted to light up that VERY exotic looking, sexy Buell.

Hey Socksta, call me. I want to buy you lunch! And I will gladly come witness. I'm pretty sure Jace and I saw every last detail ;-)

I agree, as I said earlier, this particular stop, IMO had nothing to do with the ride...I would like to hear what the cop had to say... not that I doubt the story as told at all, I do believe it... I wonder why the cop did what he did, it makes no sense.. I would like to know what his motivation was...
was there a report out on something someone did that this particular bike and rider matched the description...I can not fathom the action of the cop in this situation happening with out some understanding of his motivation.

It has been over 40 years since i had a desire to be anyone's hero, and that one did not work out so well. She divorced me, twice.

man at first i thought it was these kick pain meds that made this thread so crazy. then i go back and see..... nope just a bunch of highschool girls back and forth....
I feel like a rich man today so im going to give my 2cents for free.
Honey badger thanks for putting on a ride for ppl to go on.
Obed... Thanks for pointing out the risks of doing a group ride in the city.
Guy that got cuffed... send me a pm i know some cops that work inside the loop and they also ride so im sure i coild get some info on that jackass cop...
As for anyone else posting a ride meet up. you should put a disclamier as to what can go wrong. people may fall. cops may give tickets.
im tired of typing with one good hand. so thats it.
