Did they finish that junk-a$$ construction on Highway 90 yet? Man that stuff was goofy to drive through, esp in the rain. Thinned out roads where no fun driving next to the trucks.

ALOT of country back roads there. Not sure about the local police dept though. Did not see much of them in my short visit. Easy enough to find the back roads though, even easier to get lost lol. Explore some. The main town is pretty small but a little beaten up. When I was there, the majority of their Katrina pilgrims where homeless and most of the hotels where renovating from their extended stays. Good luck to you man.

I have one word concrning Beamont: Weinershnitzel.

I also put a period at the end of that word, to signify the end of all discussions concerning the coolness of Beamont, any village that has a weinershnitzel in it, is automatically granted "cool" status.

It was probably the Weinershnitzel, You know they have a chili cheese dog with a chili cheese burger combo, served with a medium drink and chili cheese fries for under $5? I couldn't find my wallet fast enough!

Man I agree with this.. Boremont is right... I hate that place and i feel sorry that you had to move there. There's nothing to do out there... Go see my boy Chad at Poblano Grill if you like a nice dining experience.. the address is 3350 Dowlen Rd around the back.. very nice place with an upscale crowd.. tell him Fred sent you..

I grew up in beaumont, moved to houston about 20 years ago. Not much has changed since then. You could probably get away with riding the 50 at parkdale mall, but I'm sure theres places closer to you that would be more interesting. Prolly slap some dirt tires on it and go out to the country. Plenty of offroad places out there.
