If I take someone sitting on my bike as them attempting to steal my bike, I can take some pretty aggressive actions to prevent the theft.

Just sayin.

It is never good to sit on anyones bike with out asking... even on a showroom floor...
you do not have to be a biker to understand that, just a little common sense and common courtesy. If they look really retarded, I am nice when i ask them to get off.

Just get you a pair of tighty-whity's, put a huge fake skid-mark on them....lay that on the seat while you're not on the bike. Biggest MF in the world ain't going to touch those!

I dont drink and ride. Dont assume. We only have a door guy on the weekends and during the other shifts its just me and the bar back. I think Ill try the "Get the FK off sign' first. Taking the seat off requires the removal of the tail section. Anyone have an alarm on there bike?

Alarm or at least a disc lock alarm. Not positive if that'll go off by just leaning the bike up though. Worth a shot

Sometimes this sort of thing is just unavoidable. People who own bikes themselves typically understand this unwritten code. But the general public... not usually.

I was at McD having my McRib fix just recently, and watched a lady pulled her Minivan right up next to my bike. She swung open the sliding door, pulled her kid (2-3yr old?) out of the car seat and straight onto my C14. She then goes between playing with her kid and pulling the stroller out for the next 2 minutes - with the kid parked on my bike! Finally, she deposited the kid in the stroller and came inside. She spotted me looking squarely at her with my helmet and leather jacket, and she cracked an awkward smile.

Neh... what was I gonna do? It was a nice Friday and I have 3 lil' ones myself.

Attach a throbbing glow in the dark on the seat when you're not around it.
(this can backfire if you're in a bar in Montrose area)

Trying to attack someone for sitting on your bike wont turn out well. I had before, infront of some MHers. I was smart enough to tell the cops when they arrived "he was attempting to steal my bike but I dont want to press charges, I want him gone from here immediately" right as the cops showed up.

I will ironically say if you own a bike that looks expensive (i.e. current bike has a full carbon tail) people tend to walk further around it. When we do go out at night we have a few spots we go that have cops or door guys that ride/use to that watch over our bikes. That's one big reason I like Exit73; first time back there in a long time there was a bar fight that rolled into the parking lot. I didnt know any of the employees but two of them stood infront of my bike and said they'd got it... been a fan ever since.

Be safe riding at those times.

Yeah, I thought about the but fig somebody would think it was one of those cool machines on that South Park episode. I dont want to attack anyone but I want them to know that what they are doing is highly disrespectful.

I do like exit for that reason also. Met a guy there that rides and he seemed to keep an eye out.
