I'd say spend your money on this (the asking is a little high, so negotiate down a bit if possible).

Run it sportsman style until you can find some 17's off of ebay.

There is nothing wrong with the Kawasaki 250, but if I were going to run a 250,it would be the Yamaha WRX (or whatever the designation is).

Howz it compare to a 450 CRF/YZ/KTM etc with the kit? Could be fun messing with people...

No where close to a 450 lol. But definitely in the range of a DRZ 400. It clutches up 3rd with ease. As a 250 you could barely get it to wheelie in 1st.

Depends. I would say yes, others would disagree I imagine.

Both are good choices.

I have a KLX250SF. How tall are you? It's a very small bike meant for someone under 5'8. It's probably the slowest bike i've ever owned. I also blew it up within 3 months

That would make a great 'tard. Price is a bit high, though. Owner must be proud of it.

The yamaha WR line of bikes, 400, 426 and 450's are regarded as badass bikes to convert to sumos.

I think that stock kawi 250 you're looking at would be fun but too slow for most people's taste.

old thread but figured id chime in for anyone that ever sees this.

mine is the 351 themagicman speaks of. reliability is amazing, idk how you blow up this motor if you change your oil? this things bulletproof, i beat the living out of it. for the money, they big bore kit is WELL worth it. its a friggin blast, and in the hands of someone who can ride it works magic.

plus im short, so i liked the fact its smaller and lighter than bigger stuff. plus being small and nimble, its a blast in the trails too.

just my 2cents
